That night was amazing!!
So three days earlier I got a call from Umeda-san, a very kind-hearted lady of Foreign Student Division in Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS). She told me that someone called Tanaka-san would held a party in his home, and would take the participants to a fireworks festival near his house.
His house is located in Shin-Urayasu City, just one station of Keiyo Line from Maihama, the station of Disneyland and Disney Resorts. It is a little bit far than the fireworks in Sumida River, which some of Indonesian students already planned to go there.
But I told Umeda-san immediately that I would go to that fireworks in Shin-Urayasu. And then she told me, that the number of TUFS student invited is 3 students. But she contacted one student from Germany and was still waiting for her response, so I could take only 1 student to go with me.
I asked Boris at first. But he is closer to Umeda-san, so actually Umeda-san already asked him. But he already had something to do that day so he couldn't go.
Then, I told the other Indonesian students via Line group message if they want to go in this fireworks instead of fireworks in Sumida River. There are 5 other girls other than me and one boy in that group. 3 girls said that they chose Sumida, 1 girl said that she wanted go to a festival near campus, 1 girl had work that day, and the boy was in a camping program.
Knowing that I would go alone, kind-hearted Amalia who chose Sumida at first, then said to me that she would go with me to Shin-Urayasu instead.
I told Umeda-san the next day, and she told me to contact Tanaka-san too, so I emailed him and his wife.
Then that night Umeda-san send me a message if I could take another student because the German student couldn't go. So, I contacted Afrin, an Indian beauty, if she had time on Saturday. She didn't reply my message until the next day morning, so I told Umeda-san that I couldn't find another student.
But then Afrin replied, and she said that she might have time if she didn't go to Sumida River's fireworks. Then I told her about the party and fireworksin Shin-Urayasu, and she agreed to go with me because she went to Sumida's fireworks before!
Then we three went to Shin-Urayasu. We took Seibu Tamagawa Line from Tama Station to Musashisakai Station, and then took Chuo Line to Tokyo Station. And then we proceeded to Keiyo Line until we reached Shin-Urayasu Station at around 16.00. We still needed to take bus to Tanaka-san's house. There was a looooong line on the bus stop that we finally could get on on the third bus! Japanese reaaally likes fireworks at summer!
Then we reached Tanaka-san' house. The other participants were already there because the party should be started at 16.30. We ate a lot Japanese food like sushi, karaage, etc. And we met an Indian spouse that were lining with us at the bus stop! But they could get on the bus before ours so they reached the party earlier than us.
Then, Tanaka-san's wife, or I will say Mrs. Tanaka, handed us a small basket filled with pieces of paper. I took a piece with the number 3 on it and it turned out that they were giving us presents!
Mrs. Tanaka brought some pieces of clothes, and made us to take the one we like in turn according to our number. And I chose this sporty-looking t-shirt with the blue parker. The color is so "summer", you know what I mean?
The fireworks started at 19.30, so we left Tanaka-san's house at 19.00 after he handed us the tickets to a paid viewing area for the residents near the fireworks site!
And, oh, my, God! I'm really glad that I went there!
Here are some pictures and a video I took that night.
I'm not good at taking pictures or videos, and I only have my phone camera with me, but believe me, it was soooo much better than this!
Thank you very much, Tanaka-san, Umeda-san!
